A warm welcome from Miss Mosey
I am delighted to welcome you to our school website!
I have worked at Thornton Dale school since 2015, teaching our Nursery class at the time.
In 2019 I joined the Senior Leadership Team and I was then appointed as Head of School in 2020, working alongside an experienced Executive Headteacher. I have continued my leadership journey into 2022 and now work as Headteacher at Thornton Dale Primary School.
Our school converted to an Academy in 2019, joining Elevate Multi Academy Trust. Since then, we have been on a rapid journey of improvement and I am so proud of our achievements so far. Staff, parents, governors and most importantly, our amazing children, have all worked tirelessly together to achieve our shared vision of being a safe, happy school, where we have extremely high expectations and believe that all children can achieve their absolute best. Our innovative approach to teaching combines a rigorous and progressive approach to teaching and delivering the curriculum, combined with adaptive practice that listens and responds to pupils' views, ideas and interests.
Children's wellbeing is at the centre of our practise, and we aim for all of our children to be happy, courageous and resilient learners.
I am based at Thornton Dale five days a week and I am on the gate most mornings, greeting our lovely families into school. I love being in class, working alongside our pupils and staff, and you can often find me across all classes from EYFS to Year 6; supporting with PPA cover in school.
If you have any questions about the school or would like to arrange a meeting to discuss a place for your child, please contact our school office admin@
We look forward to hearing from anyone interested in learning more about our amazing school!
What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.” The parable of the mustard seed. Mark 4:30-32 (NIV)
